Press release: Fariboles figurines join the Abysse Corp group

1st April 2022,

The Abysse Corp group, European leader in licensed pop culture merchandise, is proud to announce the acquisition of the French company Fariboles Productions.

Created in 1993 by the sculptor Pascal Rodier, Fariboles Productions is a workshop based in Normandy which designs and creates resin figurines depicting characters from numerous prestigious Franco-Belgian comic books. Crafted by hand, these top of the range, limited edition figurines are destined for collectors around the globe. Their excellent artisanal and industrial knowledge has earned the Fariboles team the prestigious “Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant” (Living Heritage Enterprise) certification. Fariboles is without a doubt the sole company in Europe to have never outsourced the production of their figurines.

The Abysse Corp group has enjoyed significant growth since its creation in 2003 thanks to its ability to develop unique products and its strong distribution network in France and abroad. This acquisition will allow Abysse Corp to enter the luxury market with the branding and know-how of Fariboles Productions. The aim will be to develop the tools of production, to extend the range, and to add licenced universes to the Fariboles catalogue.

Fariboles Productions will continue to operate independently while benefitting from the financial investment of Abysse Corp and from the support of its HR, administrative, logistics, and export structures.

Pascal Rodier, founder and lead sculptor of Fariboles Productions, will assume the role of Artistic Director while David Delbarre will take over the operational management of the company.

Xavier Sartoris, president of Abysse Corp, states “acquiring Fariboles Productions is a fantastic opportunity to integrate a great team of passionate artists and artisans! Both Normandy-based companies are not only close geographically, but also in spirit: consistently designing original and quality products for fans in accordance with each licence. Moreover, Fariboles is very much in line with our strategy to increase our production in France and Europe, as we are already doing in many of our product categories.”

Pascal Rodier adds: “Fariboles Productions has always sought to carry out ambitious projects for a great community of collectors. Today, I am particularly happy about this merger with Abysse Corp, which will allow us to write a new chapter in our story. All the workshop team will be able to benefit from a powerful dynamic and I can’t wait to accompany Fariboles Productions in this new stage.”

The group now employs more than 400 people in France and around the world and is targeting a consolidated turnover of more than 100 million euros for 2022.
